Here at JPMorgan Chase & Co., we know that people want great value combined with an excellent experience, from a bank they can trust. So we launched a new digital bank called Chase - to revolutionise mobile banking by creating seamless digital journeys that our customers love. For us, that means keeping ourselves customer obsessed and always being open to trying new things. Above all, it's about working with people who are passionate about building the bank of the future .

Chase International are looking for engineers to join our core platform team. In this role, you will be focused on the design, build, operation, and automation of the infrastructure platform and surrounding ecosystem that runs Chase, a bank which we've built from scratch.

Our team is at the heart of building the bank, and culture is critical to our success us. We are looking for naturally curious, self starters who are customer-focused team players, looking to expand their skills whilst working on this exciting product.

In this role, you can expect to:
  • Have ownership of SDLC for a variety of Golang/Java services, serverless (e.g. AWS Lambda) functions, and OSS tools.
  • Provide solutions across a number of domains as part of the core platform, including monitoring and observability, kubernetes platform and ecosystem, CI/CD tooling
  • Engage and collaborate with engineers across the business to understand use-cases, and to define best-practices for use of the infrastructure platform
  • Participate in a vibrant community of engineers from various backgrounds who are working to solve several complex business cases
  • Bring in the new and latest technologies and techniques while driving their adoption where appropriate

Some of the challenges we're solving today include:
  • Dynamically provisioning compute resources, providing high elasticity for service teams, and optimising for cost, while ensuring availability and resiliency
  • Automating the creation of typical infrastructure dependencies of microservices, such as Kafka topics, databases, encryption keys, and object storage
  • Tracing data across distributed systems, which are implemented across various technologies, to facilitate data-governance activities such as GDPR
  • Democratising control of shared resources such as API gateways, CI/CD pipelines, and observability stacks, while maintaining least-privilege access, without sacrificing productivity

This role may suit you if:
  • You consider yourself to be a software engineer, and are comfortable writing services, rather than just scripts.
  • You are comfortable dealing with cloud based infrastructure; can speak about VPCs, security groups, access controls etc.
  • You are able to see how seemingly disconnected processes, components, and events work together to create the complete product.
  • You have a passion for combining multiple services, tools, components, and love 'systems thinking'.

If you are a software engineer who loves solving technical problems and making life easier for yourself and other engineers through automation, then we are looking for you to join our team!
